Schools in Jordan are becoming more aware about the importance of ICDL modules and the necessity of teachers and staff acquiring digital skills, regardless of their background.

Ridwan School, a highly ranked school in Amman, endorsed the ICDL program years ago for grades 8, 9, and 10 as part of the curriculum. They have recentlydecided that all teachers and staff should have digital skills, so they made the possession of the ICDL certificate mandatory.

Specto guided the school on how to assess the level of ICT skills of their teachers and staff, then provided training for 70 of themĀ on Computer Essentials, Online Essentials, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Presentations. The training was tailored to suit their needs in teaching and other daily tasks.

The teachers were enthusiastic to pass the tests and reflect the skills they learned in their work. Many were impressed by how this knowledge could increase the level of their productivity and reduce the amount of effort and time needed in preparation of learning material.

Other schools are considering the same approach and will soon start with the implementation.
