A new survey on Europeans’ attitudes to internet security has revealed that a majority of respondents are worried about falling victim to cybercrime. The survey, conducted by the European Commission, was published this month based on a public opinion survey. It aims to provide a better understanding of how EU citizens see online security issues like fraud, viruses, illegal content, and attacks on computers.

The report looks at five key areas: how people use the internet; what peoples’ concerns about internet security are and how they try to ensure their safety; how people perceive cybercrime; whether people have encountered internet security issues and how they reacted; and awareness of official procedures for reporting cybercrime.
